We had a wonderful and memorable Christmas... full of laughter, family, and food! More importantly, we truly celebrated the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. Great memories are etched into our minds of a beautiful Christmas 2010.
Our Christmas tree barely made it to Christmas since it was SO dry! For some reason, it would not absorb the water at all so for the last two weeks it has been super brittle. So we took it down yesterday and my sweet daughter said goodbye to the tree and was telling us how much she would miss having the tree and all the decorations in our house. I told her Christmas comes once a year that is what makes it so special. Our house is now in disarray as we try to clean up from Christmas. Toys are everywhere and have truly overtaken our small place! Actually, it's more that the boxes of toys take up so much room. The kiddos were super blessed with lots of fun toys from all the family. Sweet J had so much fun opening all her gifts. She also made sure to tell everyone about Jesus' Birthday and the entire story of Christmas. She is so sweet and already has a love for God. She told me today that God helps us and takes care of us.
We are trying to "declutter"... an ongoing process since we've been married. We started with too much stuff... knick knacks, papers, junk, collectables, etc.... and most of it has been in storage for years, but now it is making its way into our house so we can go through it and get rid of it, give it away, or store it. I start to feel a lot of anxiety when there is stuff EVERYWHERE in our very small living space. I tend to want to just throw it all in boxes and stuff it back into our storage unit, but my hubby wants to go through it very thoroughly....
At least we have a week before things get crazy again with the New Year.
Hoping for a New Year filled with renewed vision, a path that will get us back on our feet, and a year of prosperity. We're praying for a huge breakthrough with our finances, hubby's job (still unemployed after 2 years), and a larger home to live in with a backyard so our kids can play outside.
