We got to take a last minute trip to Palm Desert thanks to my Aunt who had a time share out there. It was our only vacation for the summer and we enjoyed every minute of it! The kids were so excited to go to the desert and see "scorpions and cactus"--haha! Here is the picture of them ready in the car:
We spent many hours in the swimming pool to escape the dry heat. We splashed around and had a great time! Jordyn made friends so quickly with several little girls in the kiddie pool and had such a blast with her new "best friends". Will tagged along chasing his big sister and playing with his toy story floaty.
One of the big highlights for Lil' Will is that he got to ride on a boat across the Mariott's little river that leads to shops and restaurants. Both kids were thrilled to wear lifevests and have sailor hats!
My parents and sister were there for part of the day and we had dinner with them before they left. Fun memories!
The following day the sky threatened of thunder and lightning storms all day and finally in the late afternoon it started to pour rain and there was lots of thunder and lightning! The kids LOVED the storm.... and Lil' Will thought the lightning was like fireworks! It was exciting to watch the storm and cuddle while listening to the downpour. Since it was pouring we went to the local mall and they had an arcade, so the kiddos got to play a "stomping spider" game and they loved it. They won enough tickets to get a few cute prizes and were thrilled with that!
It was a fun little getaway and a nice end to our summer! Till next time.... :)
